Metroland Parcel Services (MPS)

Metroland Parcel Services (MPS) services over 85% of Ontario and provides coverage in Quebec and The Maritimes (Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, PEI, and Newfoundland). ShipStation's integration with MPS allows you to create domestic shipping labels for shipments with the MPS service area.

Metroland Parcel Services Integration Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with Metroland Parcel Services (MPS).

  • Your MPS Contact ID and API Key.

Connect a Metroland Parcel Services Account to ShipStation

To connect your Metroland Parcel Services account to ShipStation:

  1. Your Carriers Add-On

    Certain plans will require enabling the Your Carriers add-on before you can connect your carrier accounts. If you have not yet enabled it, you'll be prompted to do so before you can connect your accounts.

  2. Select the Metroland Parcel Services tile and click Connect.

  3. Enter your Metroland Parcel Services Contact ID and API Key, then choose an Account Nickname for you to identify the carrier account in ShipStation.

  4. Click Connect.

Metroland Rates

Metroland does not return rates to our platforms by default, so you will see their rates displayed as $0.00. However, Metroland can share your account-specific rates with us so they will appear in your ShipStation account.

To see these rates using ShipStation, please contact Metroland and ask them to share your account rate cards with us so we can return those rates to you.

The carrier can be used to create domestic shipping labels.

The carrier can be used to create international shipping labels.

ShipStation will submit international customs declarations electronically to the carrier.

The carrier can be used to create domestic return labels.

ShipStation will display estimated shipping rates for the carrier based on the connected account information and shipment details.

Shipment insurance, provided by the shipment's selected carrier, can be added to the shipment in ShipStation. This insurance would be in addition to any default coverage already provided by that carrier.

Shipping labels created for this carrier will include a tracking number that can be used to view the shipment status on the carrier's tracking website. Tracking may not be available for all shipping services.

ShipStation will manifest the day's shipments for the carrier and submit the manifest electronically. The End of Day process may be mandatory or optional, based on the carrier and your account with them. A printable file may or may not be available when submitted electronically - see End of Day (PDF).

This carrier can be used to create multi-package shipments, where multiple labels are created for a single shipment and the individual packages are linked together in a single shipment record with a master tracking number.

You can connect this carrier to ShipStation multiple times using different accounts and choose which account will be used to create each shipment.

How to Troubleshoot or Resolve

Error: No Pull based partner configuration in our system

What it means: This error from MPS indicates that something about your credentials is not configured correctly on the carrier’s side.

In this case, your credentials were entered correctly in ShipStation, but the carrier has not configured your account to work with Auctane products.

What to do: Contact your representative at MPS and request that the carrier configure your account to work with Auctane products.

Error: Forbidden or Insert failed. First exception on row 0; first error: FIELD_FILTER_VALIDATION_EXCEPTION, Value does not exist or does not match filter criteria

What it means: Either your credentials are entered incorrectly in ShipStation, or your credentials have expired on the carrier's side.

What to do:

  • Double-check that your credentials are correct and up to date.

  • Contact your representative at MPS and request that they configure your account to work with Auctane products.
