Supported Version

Shopware v6 is the only Shopware integration we support at this time.

The Shopware custom store integration has been deprecated as of November 2021 and is no longer available with ShipStation.

Shopware v6 Requirements

Connection Requirements:

  • An active account with Shopware v6

  • API_URL

    This will include the /api in the path like https://auctane-dev.shopware.store/api

  • Access key ID

  • Secret access key

Order Import Requirements:

  • Must include a Ship To address.

Connect a Shopware v6 Store to ShipStation

To connect your Shopware v6 store to ShipStation:

  1. Log in to your Shopware v6 account and locate your account's API_URL, Access key ID, and Secret access key to copy and paste in Step 7.

  2. Select the Shopware tile.

  3. Enter your API_URL, Access key ID, and Secret access key into the corresponding fields in the Connection popup, then click Connect.

After you've completed the connection steps, your store will be connected to ShipStation. You'll be taken to the store's Settings page to adjust the store-specific settings like branding, notification preferences, and product handling.

Connect Shopware v6 Using the ShipStation Plug-in

Alternatively, you can connect Shopware to ShipStation by installing the ShipStation plug-in to your Shopware account. These steps require you to open two browsers to log into Shopware and ShipStation.

In Shopware

  1. Log in to Shopware as an admin user.

  2. Click Extensions, then Store in the sidebar.

  3. Search for the "ShipStation" plug-in, then click on the tile to Add Extension.

  4. Open Extensions and go to the ShipStation tab in the sidebar once the plug-in is installed.

  5. Scroll to the bottom and select Start a Free Trial. You can create a new ShipStation account or log in with your existing credentials from that link.

Create a New User

This Step is Optional But Recommended

If you skip this step, you'll need to get the access key for an existing user with admin privileges to connect Shopware with ShipStation. This is found in your Shopware admin account by clicking Settings > System > Users & permissions.

  1. Go to Settings > System > Users & permissions.

  2. Click the Create new user button.

  3. Create a new Shopware user, which will be used just for ShipStation. Toggle Administrator on. Click the Save button.

  4. Select Create access key on this same screen.

  5. Save the Access key ID and Secure access key. You'll need it to connect to ShipStation in the next step. Click Save integration.

  6. Click Save in the new user profile.

In ShipStation

  1. Go to Settings > Selling Channels > Store Setup.

  2. Click Connect a Store.

  3. Type Shopware into the search bar. The Shopware icon will appear. Click Connect.

  4. Fill out the connection details with the following from your Shopware admin page:

    • API Url - Copy your complete store URL from the search bar. Be sure the path /api is appended to the end.

    • Access key ID

    • Secure access key

  5. Click Connect.

Available Features for the Shopware v6 Integration

The ShipStation integration with Shopware v6 Cloud supports the following standard features:

If a store allows custom statuses, this means you define that statuses your orders use in your selling channel. In most cases, if you have custom statuses you'll need to define which ShipStation statuses each custom order status corresponds to.

ShipStation will import the customer's email address with the order data and can send shipment confirmation and delivery emails to that email address (configured in your Store settings).

ShipStation will import the customer phone number with the order data.

ShipStation will import the shipping method chosen by the customer during their store checkout.

ShipStation will import the payment method used to pay for the order.

ShipStation will import discount and coupon information for the order.

ShipStation can determine if an order is a gift from the order data sent by the store.

ShipStation will import internal notes or order activity from the store into the ShipStation Internal Notes field.

ShipStation will import notes provided by the customer when they made their purchase.

ShipStation will import the total order weight from the store.

ShipStation will import the weight for each line item in the order.

ShipStation will import an image URL for each line item in the order. These images will appear as thumbnails in your Order Details and can be included in email notifications and packing slips.

ShipStation will import item options (such as color or size) for each line item in the order. This data will appear in your Order Details and can be included in customer emails and packing slips.

ShipStation will import a product stock location for each line item in the order.

Status UpdateTracking NumberCarrierServiceCarrier Fee

The shipment update ShipStation sends to the selling channel will include any Notes to Buyer set on the order in ShipStation.

Additional Details About the Shopware v6 Integration

  • Shopware's API does not support the Pickup-Dropoff (PUDO) feature.
