Why use Mark as Shipped? Mark individual orders as shipped. Mark orders shipped in bulk. Explanation: fulfillment v. shipment records.
Marking an order as shipped is meant to be used on orders that do not need a shipping label through ShipStation. Example situations include:
The order is an in-person pick-up.
The order is handled by a drop-shipper or 3PL solution.
You ship with a carrier or fulfillment account not currently connected to ShipStation.
You can mark orders as shipped either individually or in bulk. Any order marked as shipped will create a fulfillment record in the Shipments tab. Since no label is created with this feature, the order details will not contain a label in the Shipments section.
To mark an order as shipped:
Select an order from the Order Grid and click on Other Actions on the action bar.
Select Mark as Shipped and fill out the Shipment details in the pop-up window.
The Carrier field is required. If your carrier is not listed or the order is an in-person pick-up, select Other.
ShipStation recommends that you include a tracking number when possible. Select where you want notifications sent, select the ship date, and deduct from inventory. However, all these settings are optional.

If you want to mark multiple orders as shipped, there are two methods depending on your needs.
One method is to follow the instructions for Mark a Single Order but select multiple orders from the Order Grid to adjust manually.
The second method is to use the Mark as Shipped Bulk feature, which is ideal when you've received a spreadsheet containing the order and its associated tracking numbers from your fulfillment service.
Click the Other Actions menu and select Mark as Shipped Bulk.
A pop-up screen will appear where you will enter the order and tracking numbers.
Paste your order numbers and tracking numbers into the pop-up dialog box. The results will look something like the following:
Duplicate Order Numbers
If you have duplicate order numbers among your stores, you will want to make sure that you choose for which store this information is valid. Otherwise, we will automatically match the information appropriately.
Click the Validate Orders button.
Verify the information for your order(s).
You can choose which orders will notify either the customer or the marketplace. To quickly apply a shipping configuration to all orders at once, select an option from each column's header drop-down, as shown in this GIF:
Click Mark as Shipped.
Orders marked as shipped are also treated as fulfillment records.
Since fulfillments are handled outside of ShipStation, fulfillment records have limited actions. From a fulfillment record, you can cancel the fulfillment (in a limited timeframe), create a return, or export the fulfillments to a CSV file.
The fulfillment provider sends order statuses to ShipStation periodically. You can select one or many orders and click Update Status(es) for the most up to date status.
