After you have shipped a parcel, you may want to check the store notifications and track the shipment.
ShipStation provides tools to check both, as well as the ability to reprint and void labels.
When you create a label, ShipStation sends notifications to the selling channel and can also send shipment notifications to the customer (if you enable this option).
In the Shipments grid, the Notifications column displays status icons. Green icons indicate a success. Gray icons indicate no attempt has been made yet. Red means an error has occurred.
Here are what each of the icons represent:
Notified the Store
Sent Shipment Email to customer
Delivery Email Sent to customer
When you create a label, the Postage Provider assigns a tracking number to it. This tracking number can be found in the Order Details and in the Shipments Grid.
Click the tracking number to open the carrier's tracking page.
In the Shipments Grid, the icon next to the tracking number indicates the status of the shipment. See Tracking Status for a more detailed explanation.
Give your customers a branded experience!
ShipStation also offers a Branded Tracking Page to keep your customers on your site when looking up tracking information for their orders.
To print the same label again, do the following:
Select the shipment(s) from the Shipment Grid.
Click the Print menu, then choose Labels.
Select how you want to reprint from the printing pop-up.
There is no charge to reprint a label in ShipStation.
To learn more about reprinting labels, review our full Reprint a Label article.
To void a label:
Select the shipment(s) to void from the Shipments Grid.
Click the Void Shipment(s) button.
A pop-up screen will appear to confirm you wish to void the label and request a refund.
ShipStation will send a void request to the carrier for the label. ShipStation will then let you know if the void was successful.
Click Finish to close the pop-up.
For carriers that charge you as soon as you create a label, the label amount will be refunded to your postage balance right away. For post-billed carriers (like UPS or FedEx), no refund is necessary since you are charged only for labels you actually use.
Voiding a label will strike out the shipment in the Shipments grid, and return the order to the Awaiting Shipment status.
For more information about voiding labels, review our Void Labels article.
